| Why did you become a teacher? |
| Insanity… probably! If you are already there, they can’t drive you to it!
If you had told me, back when I was in high school, that someday I would be a teacher, I probably would have laughed at you. Back then, I was going to write computer programs for the rest of my life. However, it came about as a natural progression… I did some tutoring in college. In the military I was the one who taught my co-workers how to use their computers. I taught Sunday School for a while. And then, I was in the right place at the right time to teach a class at a community college… after that I was hooked. Why do I teach? Because I enjoy it! I always loved the math and logic involved, but mostly I like the interaction with the students. We have a great bunch here at FVHS! |
| Years teaching? |
| I've been a teacher at FVHS since the 1999-2000 school year. Before that, I was a substitute in the district for one year and did my student teaching at HBHS. I am also a part-time instructor at Irvine Valley College, where I have taught since fall semester 1993. I teach Math and Computer Science courses at IVC. Prior to that, I served 12 and a half years in the U.S. Air Force, where I worked in the Space Program at Vandenberg AFB and Los Angeles AFB, I was stationed 4 years in the Pentagon on a Joint Service assignment, and I was the Program Manager for the Joint Service Computer Program for 2 years. |
